NINTENDO IS DISCONTINUING THE NES CLASSIC [NA]

Sooooo…..yeahhhh….remember that NES Classic Nintendo released back in Fall 2016? The one that sold out everywhere in minutes. The one that was the 3rd highest selling console on the market in January. The one that as soon as pre-orders go up the console sells out. WELP, Nintendo decided to DISCONTINUE IT AS A PRODUCT AND NOW FULL BLOWN PANIC IS SETTING IN FOR NINTENDO FANS ALL OVER.

When you realize you didn’t end up getting an NES Classic before they sold out

Here’s the statement from Nintendo:

“Throughout April, NOA territories will receive the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year. We encourage anyone interested in obtaining this system to check with retail outlets regarding availability. We understand that it has been difficult for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologize. We have paid close attention to consumer feedback, and we greatly appreciate the incredible level of consumer interest and support for this product.”

Not much else to say here….Nintendo gon’ Nintendo from now till always. When the going gets tough and the demand gets high, just cut the product line and everything will be fine.

I for one always thoughts I’d have a chance to grab one of these bad boys come the summer or sometime after the launch. A bit shocked by this news but I guess the production side makes sense. Just puzzling that Nintendo would be shocked that there was high demand for a retro NES console.
